What types of membership does the YMCA offer?

We’re a community. Here, surrounded by friends as well as caring, knowledgeable staff, you can nurture your spirit, mind and body in ways you never imagined. But since that’s a little hard to quantify, here are some other great benefits to being a Y member:
Does the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne help those in financial need?
The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne has a commitment that “No one is turned away due to inability to pay.” All Y members receive the same membership benefits, regardless of whether or not they are receiving financial assistance. The Y maintains confidentiality of all financial information received in the application process.
To apply for financial assistance, visit the Member Services desk of your local branch. Please bring proof of your total household income when you come to join the YMCA. We need a copy of your most recent tax return and most recent 30 days of pay stubs or proof of unemployment as well as documentation of any other forms of income or assistance. You may fill out a form in branch or download and print the financial assistance form here. Please contact your local YMCA branch if you have questions about the approval process.
Our annual Annual Campaign raises funds to help provide financial assistance to those who would benefit from programs and services, but cannot afford them. If you would like to make a gift to support the campaign, please contact Nicole Hansen at (260) 918-2144.
I am a Y member visiting from out of town. Am I able to use the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne facilities?
The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne participates in the AWAY (Always Welcome At the Y) program which allows members of other YMCAs to attend our YMCA for up to two weeks. In return, YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne members can attend YMCAs abroad who also participate in the AWAY program. Please call a location prior to visiting for specific policies.
Out-of-Town visiting YMCA Members with a valid membership from a YMCA that participates in the AWAY program are welcome to use the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne facilities with a valid YMCA membership card, photo ID, and payment of half of the guest fee ($8 for adults, $5 for students and $10 for families).
What YMCA facilities in the Greater Fort Wayne area can I use?
With your membership to the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne, you have unlimited access to four branches within Fort Wayne, as well as our facilities in Wells County (Bluffton) and Whitley County (Columbia City). Members of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne also receive member rates at our resident summer camp, Camp Potawotami, located in Wolcottville.
How can I cancel my YMCA membership?
All monthly draft memberships must be cancelled in writing before the first day of the month. Please visit the Member Services desk at your local branch to fill out a cancellation form or contact the branch for other options.

Do I have to pay an enrollment fee again if I am a previous member of the YMCA?
If you renew your membership within 30 days you do not have to pay the enrollment fee again. If your membership has been inactive for more than 30 days you will be charged the enrollment fee.
How do I view & register for programs online?

Register for programs here. YMCA members can login to register for programs on-line. If you are a Y member and have not set up your online account, you will need to register and activate your online account first.
