Y I Volunteer: Greg
As a volunteer, I was able to help out a variety of different organizations throughout the year. This past year I volunteered for the Day of Caring by spreading mulch on the playground area and around trees at Rockhill Park. At the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission, helped to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless of Fort Wayne. The head chef was so interactive and thankful, bringing more trays of turkey. At the Community Harvest Food Bank, I helped stock shelves with food donated by grocery stores so less fortunate people and families can shop for food to feed their families. We were fortunate enough to see and interact with shoppers, many of whom thanked us for helping the food bank.
It was personally rewarding to meet other volunteers and people who work permanently at the agencies.
