May Childcare Options

Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve missed all of our members and program participants at the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne– but we miss our Y kids most of all! We know it hasn’t been easy but thanks to you and your family for doing your part to help stop the spread of coronavirus – especially for the benefit of our most vulnerable neighbors. We are thrilled to announce that we are reactivating our childcare programs.  We are so happy to welcome you and your children back to the Y.

As we prepare to reopen our School-Age Childcare and Early Learning Center locations on Monday, May 11, please be assured that your child’s safety is our number one priority. We’re following guidelines from health experts and local officials to ensure that our facilities meet the highest standards for hygiene and safety, and we have modified our policies and programs to facilitate safe social distancing practices.  I know bringing your child back into a social space like this may feel a little uncomfortable, and we understand that.  We are here for you and your family as we navigate this new normal together.

We’re excited to offer a variety of programs to help your child stay active, build relationships, learn new skills, and explore new opportunities all under a new sense of safety and procedures.

We’re also here to help you focus on what matters most: your family and friends, your health and wellness, and your community. We can’t wait to see you when we reopen our childcare programs on Monday, May 11.

Summer Day Camps

(Starting in June)

We offer more than silly songs and games. Being part of our summer day camp program is about learning who you are and becoming what you want to be. It’s about developing new skills and healthy habits, reaching goals and building relationships. Our summer day camp helps kids gain self-confidence, build character, and focuses on the whole child in spirit, mind and body.
