Since 1982, the Youth Service Bureau has been providing help to area schools and families for at-risk, troubled youth. Our primary goal is to provide comprehensive crisis and intervention services to children, youth and families in Allen County.
However, we do much more. We foster commitment to change by providing insight into problems and realistic solutions. We equip youth and their families with training, resources and support, enabling them to make change, bridge gaps and overcome obstacles. |
How are we impacting youth?
The Youth Service Bureau serves as an advocate for at-risk youth through a variety of services and programs. Through our advocacy, we give at-risk adolescents the tools, skills and support they need to succeed and grow into thriving adults and community members. |
Programs offered by YSB include:
Family Support Conferences (FSC)
Working together with families of at-risk youth and professional facilitators, we help develop an action plan while teaching families to recognize and utilize their own strengths to fix current problems and prevent future conflicts. Partnering with local school districts and courts, SOCAP works to keep youth in school and on track to graduation and avoid the juvenile justice system by providing them with problem-solving skills to create individual action plans. Anti-Graffiti Network Armed with gallons of paint, youth involved in court-ordered community service paint over graffiti throughout the area. In 19 years, we have cleaned graffiti from more than 42,000 sites in Fort Wayne. To report graffiti to be removed, call the Anti-Graffiti Hotline at (260) 449-4747. Fort Wayne Fatherhood Coalition (FWFC) As a member organization of this seven-member coalition, we support men in their fatherhood journey by encouraging responsible parenting and improving economic stability, resulting in stronger Allen County families. |
