Working with youth in crisis to provide one on one and group mentoring, our Youth Advocates engage young people from YMCA intervention programs, primarily from the SOCAP – truancy intervention program.  Youth have a mentor who connects them to needed services, tracks their school progress, engages them in career exploration, and provide character education.  Youth advocates work with their students all year long for multiple years at a time.  This intensive service provides positive role models and hope for the future for some of our communities most vulnerable youth.
