After School Options
Providing today's children with opportunities to continue to learn and engage in meaningful activities at the end of the day can boost their academic success. The Y helps to fill the gap by offering several After School options.
Fort Wayne Community Schools (Preschool)
We partner with Fort Wayne Community Schools to offer before and after school care for preschoolers.
School Age Child Care (Kindergarten - 6th grade)
The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne provides quality school-age after school programs on our YMCA and school campuses. We partner with 12 different school systems in Allen, Wells, and Whitley Counties.
Generation Z at Jorgensen (10 yrs - 15 yrs)
Generation Z is an afterschool program at Jorgensen Family YMCA for middle schoolers that offers transportation from school, and freedom to choose from a variety of activities, with homework support available.
T.A.S.S. at Renaissance Pointe (6th - 12th grade)
The Afterschool Spot is designed to help teens thrive in life. We offer academic support, service learning, and life skills development. We have a variety of fun engaging activities from the culinary arts to hip hop dance. Limited transportation provided. For more information, contact Gralan Early at 260.755.4881.
Teen Leadership (6th - 12th grade)
The YMCA Leaders Club, for youth in grades 6-12, teaches teens leadership training and emphasizes the importance of social responsibility and service to others. With adult advisors, teens have role models and mentors who positively impact their lives as they grow in their desire and ability to be a positive force in the community. For more information or to register, contact your local branch.
Integrative Arts Program (all ages)
The YMCA’s year-round Integrative Arts Program provides opportunities for creative expression as part of some of our after school and pre-K programs thereby enhancing the experiences of youth enrolled in any one of the programs at no extra charge. The Y collaborates with local artists and arts groups who teach lessons in creative arts disciplines such as music, dance, drumming, photography and creative writing. To register, contact your local YMCA branch.
