Trail Buddies (Adaptive Bike Riding Program for All Ages)

Trail Buddies invites people who have a disability or who are unable to pedal a bike independently to go for a ride in the fresh air using our specialized bikes, known as the Duet Bike. This free, inclusive program allows children and adults to be pedaled by caring, trained volunteers with our specialized bikes. Trail Buddies is available to those of all ages.

Note: This program runs May 1-October 31 (weather permitting). 

To become a rider, you must:

  • Be able to sit in an upright position
  • Be unable to pedal a bike independently
  • Be greater than 50lbs and less than 250lbs
  • Fill out the Waiver

Interested in volunteering?

To become a Volunteer:

  • You must be 21+ years of age
  • You must complete YMCA Volunteer Application, pass background check
  • You must be CPR certified within 60 days (offered through the YMCA for free)

To get involved, fill out the volunteer application, and turn into the front desk. You will be contacted to set up training.
