25th Annual River City Rat Race – Fort Wayne, IN
Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or just in it for the fun, the River City Rat Race is for everyone! Join us for a lively, scenic event where all ages and abilities are welcome—because it’s not about how fast you go, it’s about enjoying the journey together.

Location: Race starts at 200 E. Main St. and finishes at the Historic Old Fort, Fort Wayne, IN
Events: 10K Run/Walk and 5K Run/Walk
Entry Fee: $40 (price increases after August 31, 2025)

- Saturday, October 18 (4:00–6:00 PM): Central Branch YMCA, 1020 S. Barr St.
- Race Day, October 19 (11:00 AM–1:00 PM): Freimann Square, 201 E. Main St.
In-Person Registration Fees:
- $50 on October 18
- $60 on Race Day
Race Shirts:
- Participants will receive a long-sleeved race shirt (color to be determined). Shirts are available on a first-come, first-served basis; sizes are not guaranteed.
About the Race:
Described by Runner’s World writer Hal Higdon as “One of the most scenic 10K’s I’ve ever run,” the River City Rat Race offers a family-friendly course through Fort Wayne’s autumn parks and riverfront. Proceeds benefit the Central Branch YMCA.
