WELCOME BACK TO THE Y
5/21/2020 - Member Update from Chris Angellatta, CEO:
Dear YMCA Member,
Thank you for staying with the Y during the challenging time our society has been facing. Your support has helped us battle a common enemy and remain strong during this uncertain time. I appreciate all of the support and words of encouragement from you during the crisis. We are all approaching these times in our own way and your positive voice and commitment to keep the Y strong is exactly what our community needs.
The Y did not walk away from the crisis when we closed our membership facilities. We shifted our focus and began serving the community in different ways by providing over 10,000 meals, offering over 900 hours of emergency childcare, serving vulnerable youth in crisis and personally checking on more than 6000 older adults. We activated our mission to do more, not less.
When we reopen our membership facilities on Tuesday, May 26, some things will be different. Together we will learn to navigate the changes designed to keep us all healthy and safe. We will need your help to do it. As members of the Y community we depend on each other. We depend on each other for motivation and support under normal circumstances. Now we also depend on each other for a healthy environment. Please click here to watch a video that explains what you should expect and how you can help. A safe and clean environment is a responsibility we all have.
Some of you will be waiting at the door next Tuesday, but many of you will be hesitant. I encourage you to come by and see what is different. One thing you will see that is the same is a group of dedicated, caring staff who are there to support and encourage you. Schedules and available activities will be changed as restrictions are lifted and attendance increases. So please check the mobile app and the website at fwymca.org to stay up to date.
At the Y, we want to be your home away from home. Welcome back!
